Annotation: The article examines the role of blockchain technology in transforming financial transactions and the e-commerce sector. It considers theoretical foundations, consensus algorithms, as well as international and Ukrainian case studies. Key blockchain platforms (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Hyperledger) are analyzed and compared with traditional payment systems (Visa, Mastercard). International use cases (Amazon, IBM Food Trust, Walmart–Hyperledger) and Ukrainian examples (Prozorro, Diia City, e-hryvnia) are presented. Particular attention is paid to scalability issues, environmental challenges, cyber risks, and regulatory barriers. Practical recommendations for blockchain implementation in the Ukrainian financial and trade sectors are provided.

Annotation: The article examines current trends in the development of virtual assets, in particular cryptocurrencies, in Ukraine and the world in terms of legal policy to ensure their functioning on the basis of political and legal decisions against the background of analyzing the development of such assets. The basic information on the current situation of virtual assets, and, in particular, cryptocurrencies, on the world market and the legal provisions governing the legal relations arising from the use of such assets has been systematized. The main trends in the development of the sphere and further directions of regulation of virtual assets on the basis of temporal progress and comparison with related legal and economic categories are described. Prospects for the use of virtual assets both in Ukraine and in other countries and further interaction between the above assets and established financial government systems are outlined.

Annotation: (Українська) Розвиток сучасних телекомунікаційних систем спричинив створення якісно нових об'єктів цивільного обороту - цифрових активів, існування яких стало можливим у кіберфізичному просторі виключно завдяки мережі «Інтернет». Потреби сучасного цивільного обороту диктують як необхідність встановлення правового режиму цифрових активів як об'єктів цивільних прав, а також вироблення понятійного апарату з урахуванням різноманіття нових видів цифрових даних. Виділення цифрових активів стало об'єктивною потребою учасників громадських відносин, бажаючих безпосередньо здійснювати угоди з контрагентами, крім посередників від імені банків, платіжних систем та інших операторів угод.
